I am an immigrant and I have been in Canada for almost five years now. I have also been working remotely that entire time.
I am raising a family with two young kids. They usually go to bed around 7~8pm, and once the house is quiet, I do not really know what to do with myself.
I go to the gym a couple times a week, and I spend time with my wife. Since remote work lets me be very involved with the kids, we are already together most of the day.
I realized recently that I have not really made friends here, and that evenings have kind of become scrolling, YouTube, gaming etc
I am not even sure what I am asking. I am mostly curious if other remote workers, especially parents or immigrants, experience something similar.
Do you just accept this phase of life, or did you find ways to make evenings feel more alive?
