Been at my current hybrid gig (in office 2-3 days a week pretty flexible) making $85k/year (no bonus plan) since June of this year, so only 4 months. Not really my skill set very technical and frankly I’m 51 years old, have a young son 10 years old that I chill with after work daily, and have a decent nest egg of $1.8m already saved. Not really interested in being a go getter, more interested in running out the clock and maximizing time with my child.

Just received an offer for a remote role earning $72k + 3.5-7.5% annual bonus however they will be opening an office in my town 18 miles away that I will have to go into 3 days per week. The role is production based for tasks I’ve done thousands of time and am very familiar with so no learning curve anxiety as I call it. The recruiter says they have me pegged for advancement almost as soon as an opening arises. I know, that may be all smoke.

I’m just torn. So many variables. WWYD?
