Hi everyone!

I’m interviewing for a potentially full-time, fully remote position with a small immigration law firm based in New York City, and I’m struggling to figure out what salary would be reasonable.

I have a foreign law degree, an LL.M. from a U.S. university, and professional experience in legal research, drafting, and administrative work at diplomatic missions. I’m bilingual in Arabic and English and preparing for the NY Bar Exam.

I’d be working from outside the United States, but I’m available to accommodate U.S. Eastern Time working hours.

I really want this job. I’ve already been rejected for two previous opportunities, and I’m worried that asking for too much might cost me this one.

I know remote employees based overseas are often compensated differently from employees living in NYC, so I’m not expecting a typical New York salary.

For those who work remotely for U.S. companies from abroad, what would be a realistic monthly salary to request for a full-time legal support role?

My priority is securing the opportunity and gaining valuable experience, rather than negotiating the highest possible salary.

I’d be very grateful for any advice, especially from people who have negotiated similar international remote arrangements. Thank you!
