My job announced return to office full time a couple months ago, and the official return to office is next week. Prior to that we were hybrid, two days in office for a few months and before that fully remote since COVID. I started in 2022 so I was fully remote when I was hired, with the occasional in person meeting and site visits since I’m in the construction industry.
I’ve been looking for a new job since the announcement, have applied to a number of places and had 3 interviews but no offers yet. I need to quit soon as I have a small child and can’t afford the extra time it takes to commute every day.
Has anyone quit without something lined up? I worry it will look bad at interviews if I’m not currently employed somewhere. I’m scared it will make it take even longer to find a new place. I have a pretty solid resume with a variety of experience and I’m a licensed architect, but I just worry about being unemployed for a long period of time.
