Been freelancing from home for nearly a year now and it’s been the best I’ve ever felt (career wise) in my young adulthood after hamsterwheeling for about 7 years previously.

– Shit pays better than any 9-5 employment could reasonably offer.

– No one is on your back.

– Wake up whenever, doesn’t matter what time of day you work, or if you want to work that day.

Literally the only downside I’ve experienced so far is a “slow period” on two occasions that lasted for about a month each, but that’s to be expected with freelancing. It could also be called vacation and that’s as bad as it’s gotten so far

I’m partly making this post cause I’m ecstatic and wanted to share my remotework journey after finding this sub but I’m also wondering how some of you guy’s experience are like freelancing? Is there any advice you have for a newbie? Is there any page you would recommend for someone like me to look into? I personally mostly do AI training stuff and voice acting work on Mercor
