We are looking for a Word Processor and Typist to write, review, and validate prompt-based questions designed to train AI.
Your expertise in typing, transcription, document formatting, and file management will ensure each prompt and response reflects real-world standards for business correspondence, structured templates, and administrative communication. You’ll help shape how AI understands document preparation, proofreading, and formatting workflows used across corporate, academic, legal, and medical environments.
You are a good fit if you:
Have over 3+ years of professional experience in typing, transcription, or document processing
Have a bachelor’s degree or an associate degree in business administration, communications, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Are currently based in the U.S., Canada, New Zealand, UK or the Australia.
Have a strong background in areas such as typing business correspondence and reports, transcribing audio or handwritten content, formatting official documents, editing for grammar and layout, using word processing templates, and maintaining file versioning or document logs
Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
Have strong attention to details
Role Highlights
Flexible workload: 10–20 hours per week, with potential to increase to 40 hours.
Fully remote and asynchronous—work on your own schedule.
Minimum duration: 1–2 months, with potential for extension.
Role Start Date
This role will begin in mid to late-July with applications reviewed on a rolling basis. Interview Process
You will take an AI interview where you will be asked questions about your background in typing, formatting, and document transcription.
You will share your screen and write a detailed prompt to generate an AI response about a word processing scenario.
You will evaluate and compare LLM outputs to determine which response is more effective and accurate.
Applicants will be selected based on their performance in the AI interview and on the accuracy and quality of their evaluations.
Compensation and Legal Details
You will be legally classified as an hourly contractor for Mercor
We will pay you out at the end of each week via Stripe Connect
