WFH AI ANOMALY MONITORING PROGRAM

To start this off
1. Computer is company provided
2. I work in health insurance claims

Okay, last Friday I was informed that my directors are requiring me to take a course on this new AI program that is now mandatory on every employee issued computer. At the time I didn’t care too much because they already take occasional screenshots of my computer.

Now it is Wednesday and I log into my computer and immediately an AI software prompt pops up requiring me to configure my facial features into its biometrics scanner. I’m immediately creeped out. Turns out as soon as I logged in today the program was activated and is now taking screenshots of my face and my private living area EVERY TWO MINUTES!!! It’s an Anomaly program to where I cant even cover my camera because it considers it to be an infraction if my face is not in frame at all times….. just within the first two hours I had over 49 anomaly’s against me.

What the even bigger kicker is, I’ve gone back and read all my on-boarding papers, employee handbooks, and all papers I have signed (even the AI course they made take) NO WHERE DID THEY DISCLOSE THEY WERE GOING TO BE MONITORING ME THROUGH MY WEBCAM.

Finally I found the program, opened it up and see that there was an agreement that was activated and claims I “consented” to as soon as it installed on my computer this morning.

I never clicked a box, I never even saw this agreement form. It was all completed automatically by the system on my behalf. I would have never even been made aware if I didn’t do the digging myself. It was a mandatory installation done by my management team. The program has the exact time stamps it was installed and when I supposedly “agreed” to the consent form. It’s both the exact same time down to the SECOND!!

Im in shock because I’m dealing with personal family issues, I live with my family still and my brother is battling stage 4 cancer. So in the background sometimes doctors and healthcare workers pass through my office doors and sometimes you can see them in the room behind me. I also find it extremely invasive and creepy as I’m also disabled physically with RA and other medical conditions.

THIS IS CREEPY AND INVASIVE RIGHT!???! This job was has never been this micromanaging but because people have been underperforming & not doing working I feel as if I’m getting punished. I always exceed all expectations of work, and I have never had to be micro managed and invaded like this. I don’t understand why they just don’t fire the people being deceitful 😭

Biggest question I have is it how do I go about this besides just outright quitting my job? Also is it even worth pursuing legal action if I even can? The job climate is horrible right now, and I really can’t afford to lose this job. I’ll suck it up but idk if I’m blowing this out of proportion.
