I am truly devastated. This was my first corporate job and now my first corporate lay off. They gave us 60 days. I was part of the payment resolution team working medical billing and claim denials. We work all over the country remotely. This job was everything I could have asked for and would have continued to work here until retirement most likely. All of our jobs are going overseas. We were completely blindsided, no one knew it was coming. I have been in this field for nearly 20 years and now I just don’t know where to begin. It feels like remote work is evaporating. Jobs in the revenue cycle for healthcare are just disappearing. I have been doing this job all of my adult life. Im only 37 but I can’t really start a new career as I am a single parent. Tips, pointers, leads, support, advice, anything is welcome. Hope you all are doing ok out there. The USA is a scary place right now and I really thought I was secure. It’s amazing how quickly the rug can be pulled out from under you.
