This corporate schizophrenia is not normal. They were just praising us for our success while working remotely, and then we get a mandatory RTO email.

Last week, I had a 3-hour company-wide meeting. The VPs spent half the time glorifying our team, how our numbers increased by 40%, and that our ‘autonomy’ was the main reason the entire department was straightened out. And everyone applauded for us.

This morning, we received a calendar invite from HR. The email says that we will have to start coming to the office mandatorily 3 days a week to ‘improve synergy and collaboration’.

The irony of the situation is infuriating. They were literally just thanking us for the success we achieved while working fully remote.

Next quarter is going to be a disaster for them when all the senior devs leave. The team chat is on fire and everyone is updating their LinkedIn now. We’ve had enough.
