Meet Joe Di Grande

As the founder of Joe Does Tech Touch and a former corporate Vice President, Joe has carved a unique path—one that allowed him to explore the United States with his wife and their Beagle while continuing to grow his career.

Originally from New Jersey, Joe and his wife took the plunge into a nomadic lifestyle just before the COVID-19 pandemic. With rising housing costs and the flexibility of remote work, they hit the road in their SUV, living out of Airbnbs across the country for nearly two years. From the sunny coastlines of California to the mountain serenity of Lake Tahoe, they found inspiration in every new zip code.

Throughout the journey, Joe continued working full-time, proving that remote work doesn’t mean sacrificing productivity or growth. In fact, for Joe—who lives with ADHD—remote work improved his focus and mental well-being. One key to his daily routine? Morning fishing. This calming ritual helped him start each workday with clarity and energy—something he couldn’t have done during a traditional commute.

Eventually settling in South Florida, Joe now runs Joe Does Tech Touch, a consulting business that helps companies use automation to better manage customer relationships. His story highlights how remote work, when embraced fully, can lead to greater work-life balance, personal happiness, and entrepreneurial success.

Joe’s journey reminds us: work can happen anywhere, as long as you’re willing to think differently.

Q&A with Joe

Why did you want to Work From Home Forever?

One of the biggest drivers for me to work from home was because I hated commuting into New York City everyday from New Jersey. It was exhausting and took away nearly 3-4 hours daily that I would have spent with my family or other growth opportunities.

How long have you been Working From Home, Forever?

For roughly 5 years now.

What tradeoffs, if any, did you make in order to Work From Home Forever?

I think the biggest trade offs I’ve seen was building relationships in the office. While it’s totally possible in a virtual world, it takes time and work to find people to network with. The other piece is being very diligent to disconnect and FINISH the day. Sometimes, I can find myself hard close the laptop and wrap up. But overtime this has improved.

How do you manage work/life balance Working From Home, Forever?

This is an ongoing initiative that I think people need to remember to do. For me time blocks are key and going on walks. You have to get out of the house. Additionally, don’t forget to take advantage that you don’t have to commute. Often times, I’ll go fishing before the start of the workday or which gives me the peace and energy to kick off the day.

What’s your best advice to others who want to Work From Home Forever?

SEARCH! It’s not impossible to work from home. Whether that’s being a W2 employee or being self-employeed it is achievable. Also if you’re in an organization, build a business case to your manager of how it will be beneficial to both you and the business. This is how I received approval to go hybrid first then eventually fully remote.

Once you’re working from home, you have to work harder to network to continue to grow in your career. And lastly DISCONNECT when you can.

What are your three must-haves to Work From Home, Forever?

1 – Focus

2 – Time Management

3 – Great Wi-Fi
