Am i gas lighting myself or is my dread of commuting is driving my motivation to quit? I honestly can’t tell.

What’s crazy is that my commute is not even that bad…. but by the time I roll into the office, I just have so much anger and frustration to start my work day. I left a fully remote consulting role in big4 for what was supposed to be “a dream role” in industry and I have so much regret and resentment for my decision. A big part of it is the work itself, but the culture of “let’s all be in person FIVE days a week” feels incredibly juvenile to me for my role, considering we’re a team of FIVE people who are all senior. AND our principal is not in even the same state so he is fully remote???

I understand the benefits of in person collaboration but I just struggle to see what we’re all trying to accomplish by physically being in the office every single day.

Has anyone else felt so strongly about returning to remote or hybrid that it strongly influenced you to make a major career decision? Was the flexibility worth it?
