Is in normal to be banned from group chats when working from home

I was told today I am not allowed to post in group chats anymore. I act professionally when I ask about policy but they said I “get people riled up.” I have gotten multiple messages from coworkers saying thank you for standing up and asking questions they were to afraid to, but now here I am. 🤷‍♀️😕
