How to land a remote job in Business Controlling or FP&A (Europe/Scandinavia)?

Hi everyone,

I’m currently working as a Business Controller in Europe (Scandinavia). I’m interested in moving to a fully remote role, either continuing as a Business Controller or possibly shifting into FP&A, which seems like a natural next step and more aligned with remote possibilities.

However, I’m finding it really difficult to find job postings that are truly remote — especially in finance roles. Most companies either want you on-site or offer hybrid with a strong preference for office presence.

For those of you working remotely in finance (Business Control, FP&A, Accounting, etc.) — how did you find your remote role? Any tips on where to look (job boards, LinkedIn strategies, specific companies, recruiters, etc.) or how to position myself?

Any advice is welcome, especially from people working remotely from Europe or within Scandinavian countries.
