Well, it finally happened. Got the boot today, completely out of the blue. No warning, no PIP, just a sudden meeting and “we’re letting you go.” The official reason they’re giving everyone is that I wasn’t performing.
The crazy part? My manager was literally singing my praises in a team-wide email just last month. My coworkers are floored because I was the person everyone came to for help, and I’d just wrapped up a major project three weeks ahead of schedule.
Now I’m hearing through the grapevine that they’re telling people I couldn’t keep up. It’s just infuriating.
This at will employment stuff is such a joke.
