So I have this job with a US-based company, the only time I had my camera ON was during the interviews. It’s super productive, focused on results and no bureaucracy, no extra meetings, no 1:1, never have been asked what my location was. I even worked for 2 months in Indonesia/Bali, never mentioned this and they never asked. I’m European and I really enjoy this mentality, it’s a fresh change from the over-comunication mentality in Europe.
Now they invited everyone to an European city to meet (they have remote employees all over the world). Optional. I’m a bit reluctant to see the faces behind the slack names, including the co-founders. But in the same time I think it’s not wise to reject the invitation. My only goal is not to screw something over because this job really suits my needs best.
Anyone with similar stories? What did you do and how did it go?
