Feeling discouraged after several Mercor rejections, looking for realistic side-hustle alternatives

I just received my 11th rejection from Mercor and honestly, I’m feeling extremely frustrated.

I was hoping to find a small remote side hustle alongside my full-time job, not to become rich, but simply to earn between $300 to $400 per month to help cover expenses related to caring for my 3-year old disabled son. Between transportation, hospital admissions, medical appointments, and trips to different parts of the country, those costs add up quickly.

Remote work would also make a huge difference for my family because it would allow me to be more available to help my wife with our son, who has higher care needs than most children.

What makes this especially discouraging is that I have applied to a wide range of Mercor roles over several months, including positions related to my native language (even the dialect of the country I was born in!) and Customer Success / Support Evaluator roles, despite having more than 10 years of experience in customer support. I still keep getting rejected without much indication of what I may be doing wrong, my best guess is I am failing the AI interview, but I already did it a second time with more preparation and my applications are still getting rejected.

Are there any other platforms or realistic remote work options that are less competitive or more accessible for someone looking for a modest, flexible monthly income?

Again, I’m not looking for a full job career or easy money, just something legitimate that could help cover a few of our recurring medical and travel expenses each month.

Any advice would be genuinely appreciated.
