I work remotely and the standing team social had the same problem every week. Someone opens with a question, three people answer, then it’s just breathing into microphones until somebody says “well, I should probably get back to it.”
Most of the tools for this either need everyone to download something, need an account, or need one person to run it like a game show host. That’s already too much friction for fifteen minutes on a Friday.
So I built Twentyroll. It runs in the browser, one person makes a room, and everyone joins with a code. Up to 12 people. You pick the categories and the timer, or switch to one of the party modes if trivia gets old. There’s an Imposter word game where one person has the wrong word and has to bluff, which reliably turns a quiet team into a loud one.
Free, no ads, no download, nobody needs an account to join a room.
I’m the one who made it, so obviously I’m biased. Mostly posting because I want to know if it holds up with teams that aren’t mine. If you try it and it’s boring, I’d rather hear that than nothing.
