Is Data Labeling work dead?

I (32M software/ML dev) have to take off to care for a sick family member. I was hoping to make some income for my family using data annotation/ai training.

My wife started working on DA about a year ago and has had an almost constant stream of work. However, I passed the assessments on 4 platforms and haven’t seen any active tasks.

Is anyone working AI training/Data labeling jobs right now and getting work? What platforms/industry. Is data annotation work drying up and I just need to give up and pursue other avenues?
