I work from home as a content creator and record videos from my apartment. I really like my apartment, the rent is good, and my landlord is great. The problem is that the unit above me is an Airbnb and the sound transfer between units is pretty bad.
The noise isn’t necessarily people being unreasonable. Sometimes it’s footsteps, sometimes music, sometimes banging or things being dragged around. The bigger issue is that it’s random and can go on for hours. I never know when it’s going to happen.
Because I record videos, I’ve had to delay recordings and scrap takes because the noise gets picked up on my microphone. I talked to my landlord and he was understanding, but he confirmed the building just has thin walls/floors and there isn’t really a simple fix.
At what point would you consider moving? Has anyone else dealt with a situation where an otherwise great apartment just wasn’t compatible with working from home?
