Hello, this is my first post! 🙂 and I’d appreciate your opinions, good or bad.
I’m early in my career and a company reached out. Funny part is I was with interviews at the same time with my current job and the new company but at the end I went to where I am since the 2nd job stopped answering.
Current job:
- Around $29k/year total package
- Fully remote. I live in another state from where the office is so RTO is impossible
- Certification budget around $1.2k USD/year
- Already got a 10% raise after ~6 months
- I value being able to work from anywhere inside the country
Potential offer:
- Around $50k/year total package
- Hybrid: 3×2
- Office is only 10 minutes away
- Better salary and possibly a role that could help me grow deeper professionally
- No certification budget
My main concern is losing full remote and the certification budget but personally I think the salary jump is big especially because this is my first full time job
Office expenses would probably be low since the office is close and I could bring lunch or go home to eat.
At the same time, I really value being able to work from anywhere, travel without using vacation days, and keep growing where I am.
I know they kinda need someone (their position is opened since I didn’t go with them), I will ask if it can be full remote or the possiblity to work from another state/country in certain ocassions
Would you take the hybrid role for the salary jump or stay fully remote with good growth potential and certification support?
Thank you!
