Meet Allie, In Transition & Children’s Book Author
Allie joins us on the podcast and we cover a lot of topics during our discussion. She is currently in-transition and seeking remote work opportunities in a non-profit, tech for good or mission-based organizations.
Allie took a leap and moved to Morocco a few years ago and has traveled and worked around the world with her young daughter primarily through house-sitting. While she’s looking for her next full-time role, Allie has written What Will I Be Next? which is a children’s book about travel and learning which was illustrated using AI applications.

Why did you want to Work From Home Forever?
- I began working remote in 2016 when I decided to move to Morocco. A lot about that didn’t end up how I expected but I found my skills and abilities were much better in full time remote work. As someone with ADHD and a new baby remote work helped me succeed.
How long have you been Working From Home, Forever?
- Since December 2016.
What trade offs, if any, did you make in order to Work From Home Forever?
- I have actually grown my career since going fully remote. I was no longer held back by location or fear.
How do you manage work/life balance Working From Home, Forever?
- I have a lot of systems in place to help me be organized and I use technology to my advantage. I am currently looking for my next remote role but I’ve learned that I can be more productive with a better work life balance, even working 4 days a week for the past 2 years.
What’s your best advice to others who want to Work From Home Forever?
- Learn the technologies because without them you will have a hard time adapting and being productive. Also, don’t depend on your job for socialization, instead use remote work to your advantage and see the world. Even with a small income you can see some amazing places. I was making $15/hr as a remote agent in 2018 and started traveling the world. You just need to be creative.
What are your three must-haves to Work From Home, Forever?
- A laptop, remote income and a suitcase.
