Live monitoring & not allowed to turn off computer..?

I live in a small space and were told that we can’t shut down the computers. It’s all the company’s equipment.

They can live monitor us and complete audits on the phone. Makes sense since this is a call center job. But basically in their policy, they said not do anything personal/have personal conversations near the equipment.

Is this legal? If I’m off work, shouldn’t it be off and not monitoring sound? That feels like an invasion of privacy.
