I went for an interview, and I discovered afterward that the woman who interviewed me sat with my manager and told her I was going to leave my job.

I went for an interview on Tuesday, and I live in a very small town where everybody knows each other. I never expected this to happen, but the woman who interviewed me had lunch with my current manager afterward and explained to her in detail every word that was said in the interview, and that I would be submitting my resignation from my current job within 3 weeks.

My manager confronted me yesterday and told me she knows I’m leaving. It was very creepy because she was quoting things I said in the interview verbatim.

I had clarified in the interview that I was going to sit down with her myself and talk to her about the job offer, but this woman did all of that for me. I didn’t even get a chance to do it.

Is this considered a major red flag for the new job? I’m thinking of rejecting this job because this situation is really upsetting me..
