So, I am asking if it would make sense to bring it to the attention of HR that they are limiting the number of hours I can voluntarily sign up for out of the overtime hours they post are available. I want to know what the rules are but I’m afraid if they understand how understaffed my department is, then I won’t have OT at all. I get paid peanuts for my level of skill but I have a deadline for a bill that I will need 200 hours of overtime by June 20,or risk being homeless with my current situation. My base pay is just under what I need per month and leaned on my savings to survive until I had enough experience in this industry to switch to a better employer. Should I ask about the limits/guidelines or not get HR involved and hope for the best?
