Hi ! 25F based in the US.
I’m thinking of in investing in either a project management certification , bookkeeping, or a tax preparer one to add more skills to my resume so I can more likely land a contract remote or be hired remotely .
Context: I don’t have a ton of time and want something that enables me to increase my income to reach certain goals in my life quicker . I do have a year or project management experience cause I used to work at a warehouse when I was 19/20 for a year in the shipping office doing b2b shipping/receiving and we used project management and crm software with clients . My other experience before that is being a cashier in retail , call center . My most recent experience as of the past few years is freelancing as an independent contractor and working events like promotions. concerts and trade shows as event staff such as sampling, coat check, production , host…etc and some random work like babysitting , doing research studies as a participant , managing a social media page for one month for a client , volunteering at non profits and some acting work as an extra. The issue is I can’t go back to college cause I can’t afford tuition , not even community college and I don’t qualify for financial aid so please don’t suggest college cause I barely scrape by monthly and I’m very frugal.
I was thinking of getting either. project management , bookkeeper or tax preparer one that will beef up my resume and help make it easier to get interviews .
Also, I will aging out of healthcare once I turn 26 and so I need to be able to save money for bigger goals like affording healthcare , moving out of the toxic co-living situation I’m in and i am aiming to save around 10k by the end of next year so I don’t have months of time to do a super long certificate (another reason why I can’t do a degree rn) I am hoping for a certificate that will allow me to get hired quicker and secure a remote job to supplement my freelance income. Especially cause neurodivergent and I don’t live in an area with good public transport and can’t afford a car so I take public transport and it eats up most of my money earned from freelance work .
