Meet Rebecca Thomas
Rebecca begins by sharing her unexpected journey into recruitment. Originally from the UK, she found herself migrating to Sydney, Australia, where her recruitment career flourished. Despite the success, Rebecca and her husband reached a personal and professional crossroads in 2016. They decided to take a sabbatical to reevaluate their lives and plan their next steps.
- During their sabbatical, Rebecca and her husband explored three main possibilities
- The result was a plan to live an endless summer, alternating between Australia and Europe
- Rebecca’s career pivot from recruitment to coaching helped her realize that her demanding role as a people leader was incompatible with her new lifestyle goals
- One of the recurring themes Rebecca encounters with her clients is the desire for a career pause, often due to burnout, a mid-career crisis, redundancy, or personal circumstances such as trauma or illness
